Appalachian Trail Days is May 17 to May 19, 2013. Get ready to have fun and meet some great folks that visit for this annual event. The crowds can be quiet large. Throughout the town park vendors showcase their latest outdoor equipment and supplies. Throughout town you will hear live bands. Be sure not to miss the hikers parade, it usually ends with a splash of water.
The Creeper Trail Ride to end Cancer is a event to raise fund for rare cancer research. During the event the town is decorated with flags with the names of those who have battled cancer. This is a huge event for the town and for a great cause. Please visit them and show your support.
A yearly Easter celebration for the public. Several local church's set up in the park to celebrate Easter and preform an elaborate play and other events.
This years "Townwide Yard Sale" is on Saturday May 11th 2013. Residents and people from the surrounding communities grab their stuff and set-up shop all over the town. Its a very busy day and can get quiet crowed, so bring your walking shoes.
